We take immense pride in maintaining an exceptionally low turnover rate, with 20 of our team members having dedicated nearly a decade or more to our cause, and 10 of them surpassing 15 years of service. Our staff are not only passionate and highly skilled, but they also bring a wealth of experience and qualifications that contribute to our success. Recycling water from our buildings to use in our Hydro-excavators, wash down bay and construction use.

Recycling of products generated from our activities including:

The Directors of the company have invested in forestry to offset carbon emissions.

Use of electric forklift in our storage yard and upgrading our fleet to hybrid vehicles.

Services.


Watermains.
Over the past twenty six years City Contractors has completed over $250 million worth of watermain, firemain and fittings throughout the Auckland region. We carry out the bulk of our watermain works for Watercare, its Network Maintenance Contractors and commercial and residential applications. We love a challenge and a difficult job is right up our alley.
The following are our areas of expertise:
- Watermain renewals particularly in difficult areas or through services
- Pressure reducing valves and zone isolations
- Rising mains
- Transmission pipelines or bulk feeder mains
- Connections of all types from 50mm to 450mm
- Under pressure tapping
- Network upgrades, diversions and renewals
- Polyethylene welding and jointing
- Reticulated systems in schools, prisons, retirement villages, body corp arrangements


Firemains.
City Contractors work with all leading fire contractors and install new ring mains, supplies to new and existing building and upgrading of existing external fire systems.
These include:
- new firemains from public mains to buildings
- new ring main systems in schools, prisons, retirement villages
- hydrant sprinkler systems (in-ground)
- back flow prevention units
- strainers and reflux valves
- magflow and conventional meters
- in-ground installations with pedestrian or road strength pits
- above ground installations with stainless steel cages
- fully managed connection application process with Watercare
We work with all leading fire contractors, including:

- South Pacific Fire

Roading.
In the early stages of City Contractors we carried out 2/3 of the footpath maintenance works across Auckland City. Following this we rehabilitated numerous roads throughout Auckland including concrete pavements, kerb and channel replacements, paths and drives through the Network Maintenance Contractors. We have continued to carry out roading works with:
- safety improvements
- full reinstatement of all our watermain contracts
- roading and pedestrian upgrades to hospitals, schools, council owned and commercial properties
- carparks, accessways and tracks


General Civil Works.
City Contractors are fully equipped to deliver all types of civil projects. Our fleet of modern plant and our 26 years of experience in Auckland has allowed us to complete a range of activities.
Some of our recent projects are:
- Soil stabilisation project at Maraetai Boat Club
- Zone rationalisation project installing PRV’s around Auckland
- Resurfacing of the main entrance at Greenlane Hospital
- New concrete carpark, lighting and drainage at Tāhuna Marae, Waiuku
Included in our fleet are the following support plant:
- We own and operate 2 hydro-excavators to locate underground services with their own recycled water filling station
- 6m3 concrete truck to ensure all concrete deliveries are achievable
- 3 traffic control teams including 2 attenuators to manage public traffic and pedestrian safety
- 2 water carts for testing, chlorination, dichlorination, flushing, dust suppression and site water supplies
